Troops arrest Boko Haram drone supplier, neutralise terrorist commander in North-East

Troops of the Joint Task Force (NorthEast) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in coordination with local vigilantes and hunters, have continued to disrupt Boko Haram operations across Adamawa and Borno States.

Confirming the report, Media Information Officer Headquarters Joint Task Force (NorthEast) Operation HADIN KAI  Lieut. Col. Sani Uba on Thursday, Sector 4 troops under the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, a terrorist logistics supplier, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State. Recovered from the suspect were an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted foodstuffs. Muhammed is currently in custody, undergoing further investigation.

In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops neutralised terrorist commander Abdullahi Mafa during an ambush along the Visik River line, recovering an AK-47 rifle and loaded magazine. Acting on further intelligence, the troops also arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, a terrorist collaborator and drone supplier, at Madagali Motor Park. Authorities recovered two aerial drones, drone accessories, and 20 solar power banks from Gubula, who is believed to have supplied locally armed drones used by Boko Haram against troops.

Elsewhere in Sector 2, OPHK troops, in partnership with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), repelled insurgent attacks in Ngamdu, Borno State, neutralising a terrorist informant attempting to breach defensive positions. Additional logistic items were recovered during the operation.

Officials emphasized that these operations are part of sustained efforts to dismantle Boko Haram supply lines, restore security, and protect communities across the North-East. The Military High Command commended the troops for their sacrifices and dedication, urging them to maintain the operational tempo.
