Nigerian Embassy in Kuwait issues safety advisory amid regional tensions

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the State of Kuwait has issued a safety advisory to Nigerian nationals residing in Kuwait and Bahrain, urging calm, vigilance and strict adherence to host government directives in light of prevailing regional developments.

In a circular dated March 1, 2026, referenced NKT/GA/C/004/Vol. I, the mission — which holds concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Bahrain — advised citizens to comply fully with safety guidelines and official advisories issued by authorities in both countries.

The Embassy encouraged Nigerians to remain informed by monitoring credible local news outlets and official government announcements in Kuwait and Bahrain. It noted that it is closely monitoring the evolving situation and maintaining active communication with leaders of Nigerian community groups and associations within its jurisdiction.

As part of efforts to strengthen real-time engagement, the mission announced the establishment of a dedicated mobile and WhatsApp line to facilitate prompt communication with nationals.

Nigerians requiring assistance or further clarification were advised to contact the Embassy via its official email address or through the designated telephone and WhatsApp numbers provided by the mission.

Reaffirming its commitment to the safety and welfare of Nigerian citizens under its jurisdiction, the Embassy pledged to provide timely updates as developments unfold.
