Maiduguri Blast: Group urges calm, backs security efforts

The Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa Support Initiative has called for calm following Monday evening’s bomb blast in Maiduguri, while expressing confidence in ongoing efforts by security forces to end insecurity across the country.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, the group extended condolences to the government and people of Borno State over the tragic incident, which it condemned in strong terms.

The statement conveyed assurances from the Initiative’s Grand Patron, Christopher Gwabin Musa, who currently serves as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity. It stressed that efforts are underway to decisively dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace.

According to the group, security agencies are intensifying coordinated operations under the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a focus on strengthening the nation’s security architecture and safeguarding citizens.

“This tragic incident only strengthens our resolve,” the statement noted, adding that troops are engaged in sustained operations aimed at neutralising threats and ensuring stability nationwide.

The Initiative urged residents, particularly in affected communities, to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information. It also expressed optimism that ongoing efforts would yield long-term peace and stability across the country.
