Military sources reported that the raid revealed substantial caches of stolen crude oil and illegally refined kerosene. These illicit substances were found meticulously stored in a variety of containers, including tanks, drums, jerrycans, and sacks, underscoring the scale of the operation conducted by the Navy personnel.

Simultaneously, on the same day, Forward Operating Base FORMOSO made a crucial breakthrough by discovering and dismantling three illegal refining sites located in Bassambari, Nembe LGA, also within Bayelsa State. The operation at these sites involved the seizure of 12 refining ovens and 10 receiving units, all containing significant quantities of stolen crude oil and illegally refined AGO (Automotive Gas Oil).
This concerted effort forms part of ongoing initiatives under Operation DELTA SANITY, designed to clamp down on illegal activities that have plagued the region. The Navy’s decisive actions underscore its commitment to maintaining security and combating economic sabotage in Nigeria’s oil-rich Delta region.
