The House of Representatives is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Rep. Ekene Abubakar Adams (LP, Kaduna), who died early Tuesday at the age of 39.
In a statement House Spokesman / Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr said Rep. Adams was a dedicated public servant, a passionate sports administrator, and a kind philanthropist. Until his demise, he chaired the House Committee on Sports, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the development of grassroots sports in Nigeria. Representing the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, he was serving his first term in the House of Representatives, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and constituents.
He said Rep. Adams was known for his kindness, humility, and humanitarian efforts. His contributions to the House and his community were significant and impactful, leaving a legacy that will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
The House of Representatives extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and constituents of Rep. Adams, as well as the good people and Government of Kaduna State. His loss is profoundly felt across the nation, and his absence will be deeply mourned.
