Just In: Tinubu appoints new heads for humanitarian and social development agencies

To enhance the delivery of relief and social development programs, President Bola Tinubu has appointed seven qualified individuals to lead key agencies under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

According to Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the new appointees are:

Dr. Badamasi Lawal – Chief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

Dr. Lawal, holding a PhD in Education, has prior experience as a commissioner in Katsina State. Ms. Funmilola Olotu – Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. Ms. Olotu, with an MBA, serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on state lotteries.

Ms. Aishat Alubankudi – Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups. Ms. Alubankudi has a bachelor’s degree in Community Development and expertise as a risk assessor and financial manager.

Princess Aderemi Adebowale – Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding. Princess Adebowale, a PhD holder, is the Special Adviser on Civic Engagement to the Lagos State Governor and a former local government chairperson.

Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam – Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office. Mr. Imam, with a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, has held positions as chief accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd. and as a bank manager.

Mr. Ayuba Gufwan – Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities. Mr. Gufwan, who holds an LLB, is the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos.

Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello – Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. Ms. Bello, with an MPA, has served as Secretary-General of ALGON and as a Permanent Secretary in both the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

President Tinubu has tasked these new leaders with ensuring that the administration’s reconfigured welfare programs benefit vulnerable groups with integrity and diligence.
