In a separate event prompted by the military’s aggressive operations against insurgents in the northeastern region, a member of the Boko Haram group, accompanied by his wife, voluntarily surrendered to the troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade Garrison stationed in Gwoza. Alongside the surrender, an AK-47 Rifle and ten live rounds of 7.62 mm Special Ammunition were handed over to the military.

In yet another operation on August 21, 2023, forces belonging to the 1 Brigade Garrison, under the command of the 8 Division, executed a meticulously planned ambush on insurgents who were en route to attack Bobo Village within the Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Engaging in a fierce confrontation with the criminals, the troops eliminated two insurgents and successfully confiscated two AK-47 Rifles as well as four motorcycles from the scene.
The Nigerian Army calls upon all law-abiding citizens to lend their support to its ongoing operations aimed at bolstering security throughout the nation.
