The Commissioner of Police for Plateau State, CP Okoro Julius Alawari, recently made a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and the Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General AE Abubakar, at the Headquarters of the 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in Jos. The purpose of the visit was to enhance collaboration between the police and the military in ensuring peace and security in Plateau State.
CP Alawari, who recently assumed his role, emphasized the importance of establishing strong ties with other security agencies. He highlighted the need for a cohesive approach to crime prevention and stability on the Plateau. Alawari praised the GOC/Commander OPSH for his effective efforts in restoring law and order in troubled areas of the state. He encouraged the continuation and reinforcement of the security measures to sustain the achieved peace.
In response, Major General AE Abubakar acknowledged the significance of cooperation among security agencies, particularly in addressing criminal activities in volatile regions of the state. He stressed the importance of joint efforts and information sharing in the defense of Nigeria, as highlighted by the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff. Abubakar also praised the contributions of the police contingent in Operation SAFE HAVEN and emphasized the role of community engagement in promoting peace.
Major General Abubakar hosted the Bache Cultural Development Association from Bassa, Plateau State, commending their respect for authority and urging them to promote peaceful coexistence among their members and encourage positive activities among the youth.
The visit concluded with the signing of the visitor’s book, exchange of plaques, and group photographs to commemorate the occasion.
