The convicts were prosecuted on separate charges, including impersonation, cheating, possession of fraudulent documents, and obtaining by false pretence.

The convicts, including Fasanya Abdulqudus Gbolahan, Nkiri Oluchukwu Destiny, Fakoya Tobi Samuel, and others, pleaded guilty to the charges. The prosecution presented incriminating documents, leading the courts to sentence them to varying terms of imprisonment, community service, or fines.
