The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has strongly condemned the unauthorized use of its operational gear in a resurfacing video titled “EFCC and Army Wahala,” which has gained renewed attention on social media.
The video, a parody of the EFCC’s operations, depicts supposed operatives using aggressive and improper tactics on suspects, a portrayal the Commission finds both offensive and damaging.
In response, the EFCC reiterated its warning to skit makers and content creators, urging them to refrain from misusing the Commission’s official attire and equipment. The EFCC emphasized that its officers are well-trained professionals, upholding principles of decency, civility, and respect in their work, including when handling suspects.
The Commission views such content as a deliberate attempt to tarnish its reputation and remains firm in its stance against any unauthorized use of its operational assets in a manner that misrepresents its integrity.
Skit makers have once again been cautioned to desist from such practices, as the EFCC maintains a zero-tolerance approach to the misuse of its identity.
