NIDCOM chief applauds Amanda Azubuike’s historic promotion in U.S. Army

The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Amanda Azubuike on her promotion to Brigadier General in the United States Army, describing the achievement as a testament to her dedication and exceptional service.

In a statement issued on Sunday by NiDCOM’s Head of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa commended Azubuike’s resilience and professionalism, noting that her success is a source of pride for Nigerians worldwide.

Born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother, Azubuike’s military career began in 1994 when she joined the U.S. Army, later becoming an aviator after completing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course. Over the years, she has held key leadership roles, including platoon leader, flight operations officer, and public affairs officer. She currently serves as Deputy Commanding Officer at the U.S. Army Cadet Command.

Dabiri-Erewa highlighted the broader significance of Azubuike’s promotion, stating, “Amanda’s elevation to Brigadier General not only breaks barriers but also underscores the remarkable contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora to global progress.”

She urged Nigerians worldwide to draw inspiration from Azubuike’s success, reinforcing the values of perseverance and excellence in their respective pursuits.
