Nigeria, Caribbean to strengthen trade and investment ties at upcoming summit

In a strategic move to enhance economic collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean, Aquarian Consult Limited (ACL), in partnership with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, will host the Aquarian Consult Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit (AACIS ’25) from March 25–28, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

With the theme “Bridging Continents: Africa and the Caribbean—A Partnership for Prosperity,” the summit will facilitate cross-regional investment, unlock economic opportunities, and promote high-level discussions on trade, development, and bilateral partnerships.

Driving Strategic Investment and Economic Growth

Summit Coordinator Hyelsinta Linda Ojo emphasized the significance of AACIS ’25 in advancing credible investment opportunities across key sectors, including technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and finance. She noted that the event will bring together policymakers, investors, business leaders, and entrepreneurs to explore strategies for strengthening trade and economic cooperation.

Ojo also highlighted Aquarian Consult’s 16-year track record in business advisory, strategy development, and capacity building, reaffirming its role in fostering sustainable growth in an evolving global economy. According to her, the summit will serve as a premier platform for high-level dialogue, strategic networking, and impactful partnerships, reinforcing economic ties between Africa and the Caribbean.

The summit will feature a lineup of esteemed speakers, including:

  • Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, who will deliver the keynote address.
  • Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, Former President of Mauritius, who will provide insights on investment and economic development strategies.

Key highlights of the event include plenary sessions, sector-focused discussions, and trade policy dialogues, alongside an exhibition showcase featuring innovative startups and investment-ready businesses.

A major focus of the summit will be on Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programs, a critical revenue stream for Caribbean nations. The discussions will offer Nigerian businesses and investors insights into leveraging opportunities in the Caribbean while enabling Caribbean investors to explore potential ventures in Africa.

Interim Chief Operating Officer of Aquarian Consult, Abisola Bamtefa, underscored the summit’s potential to catalyze new opportunities for African entrepreneurs and small businesses, positioning the event as a gateway for securing investments and expanding business operations.
