Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, marked the 2025 Democracy Day with a compassionate outreach, paying early morning visits to hospitals in Maiduguri and offering direct financial support to patients.
Arriving at the State Specialist Hospital by 5:00 a.m., Governor Zulum interacted with patients in the gynecology, antenatal, postnatal, and emergency wards, donating N50,000 to each individual. He emphasized his administration’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Borno State.
The governor proceeded to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where he extended similar financial assistance and covered medical expenses for patients in need.

In further commemoration of Democracy Day, Zulum is set to commission 20 road projects executed by his administration across the state. He will also inaugurate two major hospital projects and an international conference centre in Maiduguri and Jere Local Government Areas.
The new health facilities include the Borno Orthopaedic Hospital in Goni Kachallari and a General Hospital in Kaleri, both located in Jere.
Since assuming office, Governor Zulum’s administration has executed over 1,000 projects across key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, water supply, and environmental development.
