The Nigeria Police Force has recorded multiple breakthroughs in internal security operations across Katsina, Nasarawa, and Jigawa States, showcasing the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and inter-agency collaboration.
In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in Katsina State, police operatives uncovered a staged kidnapping case involving two sisters. Acting on a complaint lodged on February 20, 2025, by Alhaji Badamasi Bala of Madaci Yan Nono Quarters, investigators traced the alleged abduction of a 14-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister. Four months later, the older sister reappeared and confessed to orchestrating the incident with three accomplices aged 25, 19, and 16. All suspects have been arrested, and the 4-year-old victim was safely rescued.
He said in Nasarawa State, following actionable intelligence, police operatives intercepted a suspected arms trafficker along the Giza–Kadarko Road in Keana LGA. The suspect fled upon being flagged down, abandoning an unregistered motorcycle. A subsequent search yielded one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 45 rounds of 7.62x39mm live ammunition. Efforts to apprehend the suspect are ongoing.
In Jigawa State, a joint security operation conducted on June 13, 2025, led to the arrest of seven suspected fraudsters in Kankare and Zurkuda villages, Birnin Kudu LGA. The suspects are believed to be part of a coordinated financial crime network. Recovered exhibits include: $46,100 in counterfeit U.S. currency, 4 POS machines, 13 Android smartphones, 29 keypad phones, 6 power banks, 2 vehicle plate numbers and Documents linked to electronic fraud.
All suspects are currently in custody and under investigation.
The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reaffirmed its commitment to proactive crime prevention, community partnership, and safeguarding lives and property across the country.
