A former Acting Accountant General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, requested additional time to file a no-case submission in his ongoing trial before Justice James Omotosho at the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja.
Nwabuoku is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a nine-count amended charge bordering on money laundering amounting to N868,465,000 (Eight Hundred and Sixty-Eight Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand Naira).
At the previous court sitting, his counsel, Isadore Udenko, had informed the court of plans to file a no-case submission. However, during Wednesday’s session, the defence sought an extension to finalize the application.
Justice Omotosho granted the request and adjourned the matter to November 3, 2025, for the hearing of the no-case submission.
