Troops of 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN have neutralised two armed bandits and recovered weapons during a successful ambush in Nteng, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operation, conducted on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, followed credible intelligence about planned attacks on local communities. The troops made contact with the armed group as they approached the area, leading to a firefight in which two bandits were killed. Others fled with suspected gunshot wounds, as blood trails were discovered along their escape route.
A cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered at the scene and is currently in the custody of the military. Troops are continuing pursuit operations to intercept the fleeing criminals.
The military described the operation as another significant success in the ongoing fight against banditry and armed militias within the Operation SAFE HAVEN Joint Operations Area.
