The Force Commander of the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea-Bissau (ESSMGB), Brigadier General Edward Odinya Ojabo, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, visited the Ghanaian Contingent 4 (GhanCoy 4) at their camp in the capital city, following a successful rotation from GhanCoy 3.
According to Mission Public Information Officer MajorYahaya Nasir Kabara, addressing the troops, Brig Gen Ojabo emphasized professionalism, discipline, and exemplary conduct, urging them to uphold the high standards set by their predecessors. He also highlighted the strategic importance of their presence ahead of Guinea-Bissau’s upcoming general elections, calling for unwavering focus, diligence, and strict adherence to the mission’s rules of engagement.
The Force Commander further encouraged continuous communication with Force Headquarters to ensure clarity in operations and directed officers to keep their personnel well-informed on all mission directives.
