The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that it will carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on the 132kV Ughelli–Effurun Transmission Line on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
In a statement General Manager, Public Affairs Ndidi Mbah said the maintenance exercise is targeted at resolving a hotspot on the overhead jumper conductor clamp to improve the efficiency and reliability of the transmission line.
As a result, the Delta Transmission Substation will be temporarily shut down, causing a disruption in bulk electricity supply to the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC). This will affect electricity distribution to customers in Ughelli, Effurun, Warri, and surrounding communities for the three-hour duration.
TCN regrets any inconvenience the outage may cause and appeals for the understanding of customers as it undertakes this critical system enhancement.
