University of Abuja to host 12th NUGA zone H preliminaries

The University of Abuja will host 12 other institutions from across Nigeria for the Zone H preliminaries of the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA), scheduled to hold from Thursday, September 25, to Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

In preparation for the event, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, conducted an inspection of campus facilities last week.

Participating universities include the Federal University of Technology, Minna; IBB University, Lapai; Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja; Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba; Federal University, Lokoja; and the African University of Science and Technology. Others are Baze University; African Aviation and Aerospace University, Abuja; National University of Science and Technology, Abuja; Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna; Veritas University, Abuja; and Newgate University, Minna.

The preliminaries will feature football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, scrabble, chess, and other sports. Committees have already been inaugurated to ensure smooth organization and successful hosting.

According to the institution, the event offers an opportunity to showcase both sporting excellence and its tradition of hospitality.
