Staff of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs staged a protest at the Ministry’s headquarters on Wednesday, prompting a response from the Honourable Minister, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
In a statement issued by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jonathan Eze, the Minister acknowledged the right of workers to express their concerns but stressed that such actions must remain professional and consistent with civil service ethics.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim, a certified Human Resource Manager, reaffirmed her commitment to staff welfare, motivation, and professional development, noting that these issues remain central to institutional performance.
She, however, clarified that financial and staff administration matters lie under the purview of the Permanent Secretary, who is responsible for engaging directors, reviewing grievances, and making recommendations.
While rejecting personal attacks or unfounded claims, the Minister assured staff of her continued dedication to doing what is right in line with public service principles. She urged all engagements to reflect mutual respect, professionalism, and focus on delivering the Ministry’s mandate to women, children, and vulnerable groups nationwide.
