The Federal Government has approved the promotion of 1,163 officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in a move aimed at strengthening the Corps’ capacity to deliver on its mandate of safer roads across Nigeria.
According to Corps Public Education Officer Federal Road Safety Corps Headquarters Abuja, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, the approval, conveyed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, underscores the government’s commitment to rewarding excellence, professionalism, and dedication to service.
The promotion breakdown includes 128 Chief Route Commanders elevated to Assistant Corps Commanders, 395 Superintendent Route Commanders promoted to Chief Route Commanders, 310 Route Commanders to Superintendent Route Commanders, 91 Deputy Route Commanders to Route Commanders, and 239 Assistant Route Commanders to Deputy Route Commanders.
Commending the officers, Akume urged them to view the elevation as a call to higher responsibility while reaffirming government’s commitment to building strong institutions through merit and integrity.
FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, expressed gratitude to the government for the gesture, describing it as a morale booster that will inspire greater dedication. He charged the newly promoted officers to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism.
