The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), in partnership with SLL Pharmacovigilance, has organised a two-day interactive training on pharmacovigilance to strengthen patient safety in Bayelsa State.
The programme brought together representatives from primary, secondary, and tertiary health facilities, alongside members of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) and the National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED).
The training focused on identifying and reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) and Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFIs), while also providing guidelines for setting up pharmacovigilance committees within health facilities.
Participants were further trained on practical reporting methods using tools such as the Med Safety App, NAFDAC Green Book, Yellow Forms, and the agency’s e-reporting platform.
