Cardoso leads Nigeria’s delegation to World Bank–IMF meetings in Washington

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings scheduled to open on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

In a statement, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy said sssssssssCardoso, serving as Nigeria’s Alternate Governor at the meetings, is representing the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, who is currently indisposed.

Also on the Nigerian delegation is the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite.

According to the World Bank, highlights of the Annual Meetings include the Development Committee Plenary Session on October 16 and the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) Meetings on October 17.

Other scheduled events will feature regional briefings, press conferences, and fora focused on key issues in international development, the global economy, and financial markets.
