Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine concealed within cocoa butter body cream containers bound for London, United Kingdom, through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

According to a statement by the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday, the 3.6kg consignment was discovered on October 14, 2025, during a cargo examination of personal effects intended for an Air Peace flight to London. A cargo agent, Lawal Olakunle, who presented the consignment, was arrested immediately. Two others — a healthcare worker, Ogunmuyide Taiwo, and a travel agency CEO, Mutiu Adebiyi — were later arrested in follow-up operations across Lagos.

In a related development, NDLEA officers at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, arrested a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark, while attempting to export 103.59 grammes of methamphetamine concealed in a “diabeta herbs coffee tea” pack to the Philippines.

At Bode Saadu, Kwara State, 40-year-old Umar Abubakar was arrested with 21,950 capsules of Tramadol 250mg hidden inside a 100-litre water heater following credible intelligence.

In Lagos, NDLEA operatives raided Proxy Night Club, Victoria Island, where a drug party was underway, arresting over 100 suspects, including the club owner, socialite Mike “Pretty Mike” Nwogu. Various illicit substances, including “Loud” and laughing gas, were seized during the operation.
