The High Commission of India, in partnership with the Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF), has hosted a special short movie screening and panel discussion aimed at deepening cultural collaboration and creative exchange between India and Nigeria.
The event, held at the Indian High Commission in Abuja, was inaugurated by the Indian High Commissioner, Ambassador Abhishek Singh, and attracted participants from the diplomatic community, Nollywood, film industry professionals, cultural enthusiasts, influencers, and friends of India.

Two thought-provoking short films — the Indian film “Good Morning” and the Nigerian production “Not So Long a Letter” — were screened during the evening, offering a blend of storytelling styles that celebrated shared human experiences and cultural values.
Following the screenings, a panel discussion themed “Celebration of Our Rich Cultural Heritage and the Need for Collaboration” featured insightful contributions from Swat Duniah-Adalumo (Moderator and Journalist), Dr. Ahmed Sarari (Filmmaker), Francis Duru (Actor/Filmmaker), and Stephnora Okere (Actress/Filmmaker).

Panelists emphasized the role of cinema in promoting cross-cultural understanding, advancing artistic cooperation, and strengthening the historical and cultural ties between India and Nigeria.
Ambassador Singh said the initiative was part of the High Commission’s ongoing effort to foster stronger India-Nigeria cultural relations and to promote Indian cinema through shared storytelling traditions.
