Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a decisive, hands-on intervention that led to the release of 38 persons abducted during an attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area.
In a statement, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Rafiu Ajakaye said the victims, kidnapped days ago in an incident that drew nationwide concern, regained their freedom on November 23 after sustained operations by security agencies and coordinated efforts of government representatives.
Governor AbdulRazaq attributed the breakthrough entirely to President Tinubu’s direct involvement, noting that the President personally led efforts to secure the victims’ release. He said the President demonstrated rare commitment by suspending his planned trip to the G20 meeting in South Africa to focus on the security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States.
According to the Governor, President Tinubu also ordered enhanced security deployments to Kwara, reflecting his unwavering resolve to protect citizens across the country.
AbdulRazaq extended gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force, which deployed four new tactical teams to the state on the President’s instruction.
He also appreciated security personnel, community leaders, religious bodies, and Kwarans for their solidarity and support throughout the ordeal.
