EFCC, Edo law reform commission strengthen collaboration

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation with key stakeholders in the fight against corruption and other criminal activities.

Benin Acting Zonal Director of the Commission, Deputy Commander Sa’ad Hanafi Sa’ad, made this known on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, while receiving the Chairman and members of the Edo State Law Reform Commission during a courtesy visit to the EFCC Zonal Office.

Sa’ad emphasized that collaboration remains central to the EFCC’s mandate, noting that no single institution can effectively combat crime in isolation.
“One of our core values is collaboration. The others are integrity, professionalism and courage,” he said. “Through collaboration, we can achieve much more than doing it alone. If there are areas where you need our support, you can count on us.”

Earlier, Chairman of the Edo State Law Reform Commission, Osikhena Donald, said the visit was part of his familiarization tour of law enforcement agencies in the state following his assumption of office. He noted that engaging security and regulatory institutions was essential to achieving meaningful reforms in Edo State’s legal framework.
“As we commence our work, we felt it was important to interface with key personnel of law enforcement agencies for effective collaboration,” Donald said.
