President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep condolences to renowned author, Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and their family over the death of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.
In a statement he personally signed on Thursday, the President described the loss of a child as an immeasurable tragedy, noting that no grief is as devastating as losing one’s own child.
President Tinubu said he empathises profoundly with the family at this difficult time, drawing from his personal experience of loss, and assured them of his prayers and support.
He also paid tribute to Ms Adichie as a global literary icon whose works have brought inspiration, joy and illumination to homes around the world.
The President prayed that the Almighty grants the family strength, comfort and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. “My prayers are with the family,” the President said.
