The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has concluded plans to arraign former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, before both the Federal and State High Courts in Kaduna over multiple corruption-related charges.
According to a statement issued and signed by the Head of Media and Public Communications at the ICPC, John Okor Odey, and dated March 23, 2026, the Commission said El-Rufai will be arraigned alongside one Joel Adoga before the Federal High Court in the Kaduna Judicial Division on March 24, 2026. The case, marked FHC/KD/73/2026, includes charges bordering on alleged conversion and possession of public property, as well as money laundering.
In a related development, the ICPC has also filed a separate charge before a Kaduna State High Court against El-Rufai and one Amadu Sule. The suit, with number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, contains allegations including abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and the conferring of undue advantage.
The Commission disclosed that both cases were instituted on March 18, 2026, noting that the date for arraignment at the State High Court will be communicated in due course by the court.
ICPC further confirmed that El-Rufai has been duly served with the charges.
Reaffirming its position, the Commission stated that it remains committed to upholding due process and adherence to the rule of law in the prosecution of the cases.
