Tinubu appoints Namdas BCDA DG, names Obahiagbon, Umeoji NDPHC directors

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), alongside key appointments to the management of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

The appointments, announced in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.

Namdas succeeds Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned from the position to contest an elective office in his home state.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Namdas represented the Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State and served as the spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. He was also an aspirant in the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Adamawa State.

Before venturing into partisan politics, Namdas built a career in journalism and public relations, serving as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna.

President Tinubu also appointed former lawmaker Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.

Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in his home state.

A veteran politician, Obahiagbon previously served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.

In a related development, the President reappointed Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC.

Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, returns to the position after resigning earlier to pursue his political aspiration in his home state.

The Presidency said the appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across strategic government agencies and institutions.
