A man has died in a hotel room in Gwarimpa, Abuja, after allegedly lodging with a married woman who reportedly fled the scene with his mobile phone after discovering that he was no longer breathing.
According to police investigations, the woman allegedly left the hotel with the deceased’s phone after discovering his condition.
The hotel management subsequently discovered the man’s body but allegedly failed to report the incident to the police. Instead, two hotel staff members, identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, reportedly moved the body from the hotel and dumped it under the Katampe Bridge.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death, including the exact cause of death and the events leading to the disposal of his body, remain under investigation.
Police authorities are expected to establish the sequence of events and determine the individual responsibilities of those involved.
Authorities have warned that anyone found culpable in connection with the man’s death or the alleged concealment and disposal of his body will face the full weight of the law.
