The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has uncovered fresh details surrounding the discovery of the body of a man dumped under the Katampe Bridge on August 26, 2026.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had lodged at a guest house in Gwarimpa with a married woman identified as Mrs Rukayat Muhammed of Garki Area 2.
According to police findings, Muhammed was allegedly in a romantic relationship with the deceased and had saved his phone contact under the name “Safiyat.”
Investigators said the woman discovered that the man was no longer breathing and had died but allegedly failed to report the incident to the police. Instead, she reportedly took his mobile phone and left the hotel.
The body was subsequently discovered in the hotel room by the management.
Police investigations further indicated that two hotel staff members, identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, allegedly removed the body from the room and dumped it under the Katampe Bridge, where it was later discovered.
The exact cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The FCT Police Command said investigations are ongoing and assured the public that anyone found culpable would be brought to justice.
