Police Service Commission (PSC) Staff Monitors are now stationed across the nine Senatorial districts in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa ahead of the off-cycle Governorship elections on Saturday, November 11, 2023. The PSC has also released dedicated phone lines for the public to report any instances of Police misconduct or commend exemplary conduct.
In a statement, PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, highlighted that the Commission Monitors would be easily identifiable in reflective jackets with PSC inscriptions. Dr. Solomon Arase, Chairman of the Commission and retired Inspector General of Police, urged the Staff Monitors to uphold high standards in the execution of their duties.
Arase emphasized that the Commission would hold Staff Monitors accountable for any deliberate infractions and reminded them to adhere strictly to approved guidelines and rules of engagement in monitoring Police conduct.

Ani added that PSC monitors are expected to adhere to the Commission’s approved guidelines for monitoring Police conduct during elections in the three states.
