Major General Chibuisi urges troops to take decisive action against terrorists

In a recent operational visit to the 144 Battalion (Main) Nigerian Army stationed in Madagali, Adamawa State, Major General Gold Chibuisi, the Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), charged troops with the imperative task of decisively dealing with the remnants of terrorists within the command’s area of responsibility. This directive was issued on November 16, 2023, during an address to the troops.

During his visit, General Chibuisi commended the troops for their achievements in previous operational engagements against terrorists, emphasizing that they were well-positioned to defeat the insurgents. Expressing confidence in the capabilities of the troops, he assured them that all challenges and concerns raised would be promptly addressed to enhance operational efficiency.

Additionally, General Chibuisi extended gratitude to the hunters collaborating with the Army, acknowledging their efforts in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. He urged them to advise farmers against venturing into areas marked as unsafe for farming activities, emphasizing the importance of their continued support to rid the region of terrorists.

Prior to General Chibuisi’s address, Lieutenant Colonel B. Clarke, the Commanding Officer of the 144 Battalion, welcomed the Theatre Commander and other senior officers. Lt. Col. Clarke provided a brief overview of the battalion’s activities, assuring that the unit would address the observations raised and enhance its operations.

The visit was attended by notable military figures, including Major General PP Malla, the GOC 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Brigadier General SU Abubakar, Commander 26 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General BO Amakor, Commander 28 Task Force Brigade, along with other senior officers from Headquarters Theatre Command and 7 Division Nigerian Army in Maiduguri.
