The recognition was bestowed upon the airline at the prestigious Business Day SME100 Awards and Conference, a celebrated event that took place recently in Lagos.
Formerly recognized as the Top Fastest Growing SMEs Awards, the SME100 Conference and Awards, organized by BusinessDay Media Limited, has been a fixture since its inception in 2018. This accolade is specifically tailored to acknowledge and celebrate the noteworthy impact and accomplishments of SMEs across various industries in Nigeria.
In addition to its accolade for SME support, Dana Air clinched the esteemed title of Corporate Enabler of Sports at the recent Arena Awards held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lagos. The Arena Awards, a comprehensive platform recognizing innovation, creativity, and resilience in sports tourism in Nigeria, conferred this honor upon Dana Air in recognition of its significant contributions to the development of sports.
Ememobong Ettete, the Chief Operating Officer of Dana Air, expressed the airline’s commitment to community impact, stating, “Dana Air understands the need to not just exist in isolation but to impact the community in which we operate greatly and positively.”
Demonstrating a sustained commitment to the growth and development of sports in Nigeria and Africa at large, Dana Air has actively supported various grassroots sports initiatives and clubs in the Nigerian local league. Notably, in 2018, the airline unveiled a multi-million naira sponsorship deal for two Nigerian league clubs, namely Akwa United FC of Akwa Ibom state and Heartland FC of Imo state. This strategic initiative aimed to encourage other corporate entities to contribute to making the local league as glamorous and competitive as possible.
