CDS emphasizes collaboration during visit to FIRS

In pursuit of a people-centric leadership approach aimed at fostering a professional Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), capable of effectively fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities through joint and collaborative efforts, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji.

According to Acting Director Defence Information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, during the visit, General Musa extended official congratulations to Dr. Adedeji for his well-deserved appointment by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu. The CDS emphasized the importance of collaboration and expressed the AFN’s commitment to ensuring the safety of life and property in the country.

General Musa assured the FIRS Chairman that the Armed Forces would provide unwavering support, allowing the FIRS to carry out its duties without hindrance. He further highlighted ongoing collaborative efforts between the AFN and other security agencies to foster lasting peace in the nation. The CDS emphasized the role of taxation in bringing awareness and development to the country.

In response, Dr. Adedeji lauded the AFN as a highly disciplined service and acknowledged its critical partnership in the realm of taxation. He expressed the FIRS’s reliance on the military’s support to carry out duties efficiently. Dr. Adedeji also affirmed that the welfare of the military is a top priority for President Tinubu, expressing gratitude to the CDS and the entire AFN for their crucial support to the FIRS.

The visit solidifies the commitment of both the Armed Forces and the FIRS to collaboration, reflecting their shared dedication to national security and development.
