Atiku mourns general, soldiers killed in Borno attack

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Brigadier-General O. Braimah, Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade, alongside several soldiers and the brigade’s Imam in a Boko Haram attack on Benisheikh, Borno State.

In a condolence message, Atiku described the incident as tragic, noting that his “heart is heavy” following the loss of the senior military officer and other personnel who were serving on the frontlines.

He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, particularly the late general’s wife, his brother Alasa, and the entire Braimah family, acknowledging the immense sacrifice made in the line of duty.

The former vice-president paid tribute to the fallen officers and soldiers, commending their courage and dedication to safeguarding the nation’s security. He stressed the importance of honouring their sacrifices, as well as those of all security personnel who continue to risk their lives daily.

Atiku also offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to grant them Aljannah Firdaus and to give their families the strength to bear the loss.
