Customs Comptroller General revives CSR initiatives, tours Dorian home and more in Akure

Acting Customs Comptroller General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has initiated the revitalization of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs within the NCS, aiming to reciprocate society’s support in fulfilling Nigeria Customs Service’s core mandates.

On August 14th, the Ag. CGC extended a hand of support to Dorian Home in Akure, Ondo State, an orphanage dedicated to charity and social development. He emphasized the NCS’s duty to assist communities in their operational areas. Dorian Home’s capacity for nearly a thousand children impressed him, prompting a commitment to periodically provide essential items such as food, clothing, and medication to aid their objectives.

Continuing his visit to zone ‘A’, the Customs Chief toured the Ondo/Ekiti Area Command. He inaugurated and inspected newly renovated residential accommodations for officers and personnel. Addressing the command’s members, the Ag. CGC urged diligence in operations and documentation to ensure exported products meet global standards, emphasizing timely processes and proper documentation.

The Ag. CGC also paid a visit to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Alade Toyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi CFR, The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure, affirming Customs’ commitment to responsible governance. He stressed Customs’ adherence to laws and fostering positive relationships in operational zones. The ruler lauded the Ag. CGC’s visit, congratulated his appointment, and offered prayers for a successful tenure.
