NAF airstrikes hit terrorist targets in Sambisa forest

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counter-insurgency operations in the North-East, carrying out a precision airstrike that neutralised several террорист fighters in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest.

The strike, executed on April 19, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, followed credible intelligence supported by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), which confirmed the presence of террорист elements within fortified structures and bunkers.

According to the NAF, air assets deployed precision-guided munitions against the identified targets, resulting in the destruction of the structures, elimination of multiple fighters, and disruption of key logistics facilities. Post-strike Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the effectiveness of the operation.

Military authorities said the sustained tempo of air operations continues to degrade insurgent capabilities, placing increasing pressure on their networks and limiting their operational freedom.

Reaffirming the service’s resolve, the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, stated that the NAF would maintain relentless, intelligence-driven air operations until террорист elements are fully neutralised.

“We remain committed to the protection of our personnel, the security of our nation, and the safety of all citizens,” he said, adding that the force would continue precision engagements across the theatre while adhering strictly to rules of engagement and minimising civilian harm.
