NEMA receives 161 stranded Nigerians from Libya

In a significant humanitarian effort, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has successfully received an additional batch of 161 distressed Nigerians who were repatriated from Libya. The repatriates arrived in Nigeria on an Al Buraq Air flight with registration number 5A-DMG and flight number BRQ189/07.TSINK.MJI. The aircraft touched down at the Cargo Wing of Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Ikeja at approximately 23:05 hours.

The group of returnees included 100 adult females, 37 adult males, 9 female children, 7 male children, and 4 individuals of both genders, completing the passengers on the flight. These individuals had faced various challenges while in Libya and were being brought back to their home country as part of the ongoing efforts to provide assistance to distressed Nigerians abroad.

The flight originated from Tripoli and departed at around 17:22 hours, embarking on a journey that would ultimately reunite these individuals with their families and communities in Nigeria. NEMA, in collaboration with various government agencies and humanitarian organizations, has been actively engaged in the repatriation and reintegration of Nigerian citizens facing difficulties in other countries.

This latest repatriation underscores the commitment of the National Emergency Management Agency to ensure the welfare and safety of Nigerians abroad, especially those in distress. NEMA will continue to work diligently to provide support and assistance to citizens facing challenging situations in foreign lands, facilitating their safe return to Nigeria and their reintegration into society.
