Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded major operational successes in Adamawa State, dismantling a suspected suicide bombing network and intercepting terrorist logistics during coordinated security operations.
Confirming the report, Media Information Officer Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI Lieut. Col. Sani Uba said the breakthroughs followed intensified cordon-and-search operations targeting perpetrators and facilitators of the recent Gamboru Market Mosque suicide bombing. Acting on sustained intelligence and surveillance, OPHK troops carried out a coordinated raid in the Yan Lemo area of Mubi South Local Government Area in the early hours of 5 January 2026.
During the operation, eight suspects were arrested, including two principal suspects believed to be key facilitators within the suicide bombing network. A search of the suspects’ residence led to the recovery of cash, mobile phones, identification documents, ATM cards, jewellery, and other personal effects. The recovered items are undergoing forensic analysis to support ongoing investigations.
Military sources disclosed that during identification procedures, a suspect already in custody positively identified the two principal suspects as individuals who supplied materials used in the preparation of the Improvised Explosive Device (IED). Other occupants of the residence were also linked to the network.

All suspects remain in military custody and are undergoing detailed interrogation to enable further intelligence exploitation before being handed over for continued investigation.
In a related operation on 4 January 2026, OPHK troops intercepted a large consignment of suspected terrorists’ logistics at Mayo Nguli in Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The troops seized 45 jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), estimated at about 1,125 litres, believed to have been smuggled for terrorist activities.
The suppliers reportedly fled on sighting the troops, abandoning the petroleum products, which are now in military custody pending further action. The operation was conducted without incident, and no casualties were recorded.
The military said the operations underscore OPHK’s determination to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt logistics and supply chains, prevent future attacks, and ensure that all perpetrators and collaborators are brought to justice. The headquarters of Operation HADIN KAI also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies, noting that public cooperation remains critical to sustaining peace and security across the North-East.
