35 Artillery Brigade intercepts large quantity of drugs, hands over exhibits to NDLA

The 35 Artillery Brigade successfully intercepted a Mazda model vehicle bearing Registration Number NRK 622 SB, suspected of transporting a significant quantity of Cannabis Sativa, at Mologbede village in Odeda LGA of Ogun State on Friday, 29th March 2024.

According to Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Mohammed Goni, Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu, the Commander of 35 Artillery Brigade, commended the troops for their diligence and urged them to maintain vigilance in their respective areas of responsibility. The handover of 441 parcels of Cannabis Sativa, each roughly the size of a pawpaw, totaling 223 kilograms in weight, along with the apprehended Mazda vehicle, to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command, occurred on Tuesday, 3rd April 2024.

Representing the Commander, Major Gadzama Abdullahi, Officer Commanding 35 Provost Company, reiterated the Brigade’s commitment to collaborating with other security agencies to combat crimes and social vices within the state.

Commandant Jane Ibiba Odili of the NDLEA, Ogun State Command, expressed her enthusiasm for the cooperative efforts between the military and other security agencies in the state. She acknowledged General Aminu’s consistent support of NDLEA operations, resulting in significant successes for the Agency. This interception marks a continuation of fruitful collaboration between the military and NDLEA, contributing to the disruption of drug syndicates and bolstering overall drug enforcement efforts.
