NNPC Ltd’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Distinguished Spokesperson in Oil & Gas Award by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). The recognition was bestowed upon Mr. Soneye during a ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, as part of the National Spokespersons’ Awards organized by the Institute.
Mr. Soneye’s commendable efforts in managing the reputation of Africa’s largest oil and gas company were cited as the basis for this esteemed accolade. Representing NNPC Ltd at the event was Mrs. Oluwakemi Olumuyiwa, the Head of Relationship & Stakeholder Management. In his acceptance, Mr. Soneye attributed the achievement to the steadfast support and guidance of NNPC Ltd’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mele Kyari, emphasizing the pivotal role Mr. Kyari played in shaping his role as a Spokesperson.
Furthermore, Mr. Soneye expressed gratitude to the entire Corporate Communications Team for their collective dedication and pursuit of excellence. He emphasized that the award serves as motivation for the team to uphold the highest standards in representing NNPC Ltd and the sector at large.
