In a decisive and effective mission, the Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army executed a raid on a kidnappers’ stronghold, resulting in the rescue of a victim and the capture of three suspected kidnappers in Taraba State. This operation, conducted in Kofa Adamu village of Takum Local Government Area, successfully liberated a victim who had been held captive by the criminal elements.
Acting on actionable intelligence regarding the whereabouts and operations of suspected kidnappers responsible for the abduction of Mr. Hussein Adamu on March 26, 2024, in Kofa Adamu village, and their subsequent demand for a ransom of 2 million Naira, troops from the 93 Battalion/Sub-Sect 3A OPWS swiftly mobilized and established a perimeter around the area. Through meticulous planning and execution, the victim was safely extracted from captivity. Additionally, three individuals suspected of involvement in the kidnapping were apprehended during the course of the operation.
The rescued victim is presently receiving necessary medical attention at a secure medical facility, while the detained suspects are being held in military custody for thorough interrogation.
This successful intervention underscores the unwavering commitment of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army to combatting criminal activities and safeguarding the citizens of Taraba State. The Commanding Officer of 6 Brigade/Setor 3 OPWS commended the troops for their proactive response and urged the public to continue collaborating with the military by promptly reporting any suspicious movements or criminal activities within the state.
