EFCC grills Bobrisky for Naira abuse

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Command, has initiated an investigation into the activities of Idris Okuneye, commonly known as Bobrisky, regarding the suspected abuse of the Nigerian currency.

Allegations stem from a video depicting Bobrisky purportedly flaunting and dispersing large sums of Naira notes at the premiere of a film, “Ajakaju,” produced by Nollywood actress and producer Eniola Ajao. This incident, which occurred at the Film One Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos on March 24, 2024, prompted the EFCC’s inquiry.

Further investigation has revealed similar incidents of alleged Naira note abuse by Bobrisky at various event venues and gatherings. In response to the EFCC’s summons, the 31-year-old individual appeared at the Lagos Zonal Command on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, to provide statements and undergo interrogation.

Upon the conclusion of the investigation, Bobrisky is expected to face legal proceedings.
