Police recruitment board invites specialist applicants for practical tests and medical screening

The Police Recruitment Board has extended invitations to specialist applicants for practical tests and medical screening as part of the ongoing recruitment process for Constables within the Nigeria Police Force. These evaluations will be conducted concurrently with the medical screening of both General Duty applicants and Specialists, previously slated to commence on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, and continue for a duration of two weeks.

According to a statement released by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations at the Police Service Commission (PSC), applicants will undergo assessments in various specialized fields, encompassing band, carpentry, communication, driving, electrical work, information technology, masonry, and marine technology. Additionally, specialties such as mechanics, medical assistance, painting, plumbing, tiling, printing, welding, and veterinary assistance will be evaluated.

The practical tests are scheduled to take place at twenty designated locations, including the 17 Zonal Command Headquarters, as well as the Command Headquarters in Kaduna, Yobe, and Zamfara states. Specialist applicants from these states are expected to undergo their practical tests in their respective states of origin.

Dr. Solomon Arase, CFR, retired Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, expressed the Commission’s aspiration to restore the Nigeria Police Force to its esteemed historical status when its specialists were renowned for their excellence. During this era, the Force managed most of its ancillary services internally, boasting skilled mechanics for vehicle repairs, proficient masons for barracks construction, engineers for roadworks, and tailors for uniform production.

Dr. Arase emphasized that the practical tests for specialist applicants will be meticulously conducted to ensure the selection of the most qualified individuals. He also commended the Recruitment Board for their dedication and diligence in carrying out this vital national endeavor, acknowledging their selfless service and unwavering commitment to excellence.
