The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence on Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, the Party’s Acting National Chairman.
According to the party National Publicity Secretary Honorable Debo Ologunagba, this decision was reached at the conclusion of the NWC’s 584th meeting held at the Party’s National Secretariat on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
The gesture of support towards Ambassador Damagum underscores the NWC’s recognition of his relentless efforts and dedication towards stabilizing and revitalizing the PDP as the primary opposition Party in Nigeria. Presiding over the motion for the Vote of Confidence was the Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja.
The motion was initiated by the National Vice Chairman (South East), Chief Ali Odefa, and was seconded by the National Treasurer, Honorable Yayari Mohammed. This collective endorsement reflects the unity within the Party’s leadership and highlights Ambassador Damagum’s instrumental role in steering the PDP through its current challenges.
