Troops neutralize seven insurgents, capture weapons in Kaduna

Troops of the 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA) executed a series of successful operations against insurgents, resulting in the neutralization of seven terrorists and the capture of various weapons and motorcycles.

During a fighting patrol along the Udawa-Kurebe road, troops positioned at Udawa encountered insurgents and engaged them with intense gunfire, neutralizing five terrorists. Recovered items included a pump-action gun, six cartridges, an empty AK-47 rifle magazine, an MP3 radio, a phone battery, two Baofeng radios with chargers, four memory cards, two SIM cards, and four charms.

In a related operation in Sabo Birni, Igabi Local Government Area, troops intercepted suspected terrorist movements in the Baka general area. Upon engagement, the terrorists fled to nearby hills, leaving behind an AK-47 rifle and two motorcycles. Bloodstains at the scene indicated the terrorists sustained injuries.

Additionally, troops stationed at Kwaga village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area neutralized two more terrorists. Recovered items included two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and two motorcycles.

Major General MLD Saraso, General Officer Commanding 1 Division NA and Commander of Operation WHIRL PUNCH, commended the troops for their aggressive stance and urged them to maintain the pressure on terrorists and insurgents. He called on citizens to report individuals with gunshot wounds seeking medical attention and to provide timely intelligence to security agencies.
