The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General AE Abubakar, emphasized the importance of synergy among security agencies to tackle criminal activities in Plateau State. This statement was made during a courtesy visit by the new Commissioner of Police (CP) for Plateau State, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, at the 3 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters in Jos.
Major General Abubakar highlighted the command’s alignment with the vision of the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja, which focuses on joint efforts, synergy, and intelligence sharing. He stressed that no single agency can handle security challenges alone and underscored the need for cooperation and leveraging each other’s strengths.

The GOC assured CP Adesina of a continued strong relationship between the military and police, particularly in the swift prosecution of suspects. He called for efficient information sharing among security agencies to ensure rapid response to security threats. Additionally, Major General Abubakar reiterated the Nigerian Army’s zero tolerance for misconduct and highlighted the importance of joint initiatives such as stakeholder engagements, sensitization seminars, and sporting activities to maintain peace in the region.
CP Adesina expressed his intent to foster collaboration and robust partnerships with other security agencies to combat crime and ensure peace in Plateau State. He commended Major General Abubakar for his achievements in restoring law and order and encouraged the continuation of the established security measures.
The visit concluded with group photographs featuring staff officers and commanders from various units under the 3 Division and Plateau State Police Command.
