NNPC Ltd. visited former Nigerian international footballer Tijjani Babangida to offer condolences following the tragic loss of his son, Fadil, and brother, Ibrahim Babangida, in a road accident on the Zaria-Kaduna Road on May 11, 2024. Tijjani Babangida and his wife sustained serious injuries in the accident and are currently receiving medical care.
Representing NNPC’s Group CEO Mele Kyari, Chief Corporate Communications Officer Olufemi Soneye conveyed the company’s sympathies to the Babangida family, praying for the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to Babangida and his wife.
Tijjani Babangida, who participated in a novelty football match at the 13th NNPC Sports Fiesta in February, expressed his gratitude to NNPC Ltd. for their support during this difficult time. He noted that while the loss is irreparable, the company’s gesture strengthens his resolve to cope with the tragedy.
